I am a semi-retired attorney, age 63, a graduate of Cornell University. I have taught English for 2 months many years ago in Kyoto.

I would love the opportunity to teach for you for about 4-6 weeks, starting approximately in February 2018. The dates are not yet certain. I would be willing to teach in exchange for modest room, possibly meals-essentially teach as a volunteer. I would simply like to get to know local Taiwanese persons and not just be a \"tourist.\" If this is possible, please get back to me and I can supply you with references, etc.

Hi Randy,

Thank you for writing to us. Teaching in Taiwan requires a working visa, Joy English applies for it on behalf of the English teacher. A one- year contract should be signed is one of the regulations given by the Taiwanese government in order for schools to hire foreign English teachers legally. Therefore, we regret that it is not possible to teach in exchange for things you mentioned.
