Dear Hiring Manager,
I am applying for the role of an English Teacher to work in Taiwan, I currently work at Unite Students as a Service and Sales Advisor in London. I have been working for the company for over a year now.
My current role has provided me with organisational experience that would be invaluable and transferable for teaching English. Organisation as a key factor is what it means to be successful for myself as a service and sales advisor, especially during our summer period which is the busiest time of the year. I have been responsible for managing student records and planning fun and exciting events for the upcoming 2021/2022 academic year.
Moreover, I often have to liaise with the university to maintain a positive working relationship which is extremely important in this time of year due to the changing cohort of student tenants. Therefore, it is vital that information is communicated to ensure no mistakes are made for the upcoming 21/22 academic year. I am comfortable with building a rapport with management since I have previously had many opportunities to do so with the Unite Management team in Leeds and London. This experience translates into teaching as I am an excellent communicator with both senior staff and students. I am adept at understanding the needs of those around me and how to tailor a bespoke experience for each individual, regardless of age.
I recently graduated in Asia Pacific Studies and Chinese and went to Taipei on my year abroad and studied Mandarin at NCCU. I would love the opportunity to return to Taiwan and teach English. I have limited experience teaching but have tutored English before both in Taiwan and in the UK. I want to teach in Taiwan due to my love and admiration for the country, language and culture but to also strengthen my own Mandarin language skills whilst living there.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards,
Ellecia Sands
